Reading Speed & Readability Analysis
The detailed view calculates advanced metrics about text quality:
Reading Speed Calculation:
Reading Time = Word Count ÷ Average Words Per Minute (WPM)
-
Customize Reading Speed: Use the slider in the settings to adjust the
average reading speed between 1 and 400 words per minute
- Default Value: 200 words per minute (global average)
- Fast Readers: 250-400 WPM (professional speed readers)
- Slow Readers: 100-150 WPM (beginners or technical content)
💡 Tip: The estimated reading time helps you categorize your content
correctly - especially useful for blog posts and articles!
Readability Score & Interpretation
The tool calculates a readability score based on linguistic metrics. The interpretation
depends on your selected language:
German Readability
For German texts, the tool uses a specialized analysis procedure:
- Word Length: Average length of words in syllables
- Sentence Length: Average words per sentence
-
Sentence Flow: Variability of sentence lengths for better readability
English Readability
For English texts, the tool uses the Flesch Reading Ease system:
- Flesch Score: 0-100 scale, where higher = easier to read
- 90-100: Very Easy (elementary school)
- 60-70: Standard (middle school education)
- 0-30: Very Difficult (university level)
ℹ️ Info: The readability score is subjective and may vary. It's a
directional value for optimizing your content!
Most Frequent Words (Word Frequency)
This analysis shows you the most frequently used words in your text:
- Rank: Position of the word in the frequency list
- Word: The analyzed word
- Frequency: How many times the word appears in your text
Stop Words Filter (optional): Enable the "Ignore Stop Words" option to
exclude common words like articles, prepositions, and conjunctions from the analysis.
This reveals the truly important keywords!
- German Stop Words: der, die, das, und, oder, zu, in, mit, etc.
- English Stop Words: the, a, and, or, to, in, with, etc.
💡 Tip: The "Load More" button displays the next 5 words. Perfect for
analyzing keywords for SEO!
